Two Arrested For Possession Of Meth
KOSCIUSKO — Two people were recently arrested after a witness notified police of a suspicious vehicle sitting in the roadway for over two hours.
Trenton Allen Louis Troyer, 27, 26083 CR 48, Nappanee, is being charged with possession of methamphetamine, a level 6 felony, and operating while intoxicated, a class C misdemeanor.
Jasmine Marie Hunt, 25, 309 W. Hillside Drive, Syracuse, is being charged with possession of methamphetamine, a level 6 felony.
On Oct. 25, an officer with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department responded to a suspicious vehicle in Warsaw. The caller advised that the vehicle had been sitting in the roadway for over two hours with two occupants and no one moving around inside.
The officer arrived and discovered the vehicle sitting in the roadway with improper registration. The vehicle was running and the officer was able to observe two occupants. He identified the driver as Troyer and the passenger as Hunt.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, Troyer appeared confused and could not comprehend questions asked by the officer. Troyer’s speech was mumbled to the point where the officer could not understand him, his balance was unsure and his eyes were bloodshot and red. The officer gave Troyer several field sobriety tests, which he failed.
An inventory search was conducted of the vehicle. According to the case documents, the officer located a clear plastic bag that contained 1.5 grams of methamphetamine and a burnt marijuana cigarette. Both Troyer and Hunt admitted to the officer that they had drug issues.
Troyer was transported to a local hospital for chemical testing. According to Great Lake Labs, his urine contained amphetamine, methamphetamine, Hydrocodone, marijuana and Clonazepam.
Both Troyer and Hunt were released on their own recognizance. They are due in court for their initial hearings on Nov. 15.
