Honoring Those Who Served In Our Armed Forces
KOSCIUSKO — Veterans Day, Sunday, Nov. 11, is an opportunity for Americans to thank all of the men and women who have bravely served our country.
There are a variety of ways to honor our veterans, like attending a local Veterans Day event or donating to a charity supporting veterans. Another way to assist Hoosier veterans is by ordering the Support Our Troops specialty license plate, which helps fund Indiana’s Military Family Relief Program.
Every year, more than 200,000 service personnel leave the military and over half currently face a period of unemployment. The Next Level Veterans initiative was created to recruit veterans and connect them with jobs throughout the state. Hoosier veterans and their families also have access to educational opportunities and scholarships, financial guidance and assistance, and more. To learn about these benefits, click here.
This holiday, please join me in reflecting on the bravery and sacrifices of those who protect our freedom. While we can never fully repay the debt we owe our veterans, we can continue to express our gratitude each day for their commitment to this great nation.
