Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
6:57 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, East CR 500S, east of SR 13, Pierceton. Driver: Kacie L. Carpenter, 22, East CR 500S, Warsaw. Carpenter stated her vehicle struck a tire that was in the middle of the road. Damage up to $2,500.
4:19 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, East Armstrong Road, east of EMS T25 Lane, Warsaw. Driver: Richard J. Lechlitner, 30, Robson Road, Winona Lake. Lechlitner’s vehicle struck a deer. Damage up to $5,000.
10:48 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, North SR 19, north of West SR 10, Etna Green. Driver: Kaitlyn P. Engholm, 21, East CR 775N, Tippecanoe. Engholm stated she came around some curves when a deer ran out into the roadway. She advised she swerved to avoid striking the deer. Her vehicle left the roadway and struck a post and an REMC utility pole, then rolled onto its top. Engholm complained of pain to her hips and was transported to Parkview Regional Hospital. Damage up to $25,000.
5:32 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, West Old Road 30, east of North CR 650W, Warsaw. Driver: Delbert K. Hedington, 81, West CR 250N, Etna Green. Hedington’s vehicle struck a deer. Damage up to $1,000.
3:16 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, West Old Road 30 and North CR 875W, Etna Green. Drivers: Anne M. Stoneburner, 35, South Franklin Street, Mentone; and Michael L. Jackson, 47, South Side Drive, Warsaw. The vehicles collided at the intersection. Damage up to $10,000.
2:00 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, South CR 150W, south of Fox Farm Road, Warsaw. Driver: Brian D. Fuller, 53, Sharon Street, Warsaw. Fuller advised that a deer ran into the side of his truck. Damage up to $2,500.
1:43 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, SR 25, east of South CR 400W, Warsaw. Driver: Dennis L. Crumbley, 59, South Indiana Street, Warsaw. As Crumbley’s vehicle was southbound through a wooded portion of the road, a tree fell and struck the front passenger side of the vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
