Ronald Himes
Ronald Himes, 87, Warsaw, passed away at 1:28 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 4, 2018, in his residence. He was born March 14, 1931, in Plymouth to Herman and Edna (Higgs) Himes.
Mr. Himes was a 1949 graduate of Warsaw High School. He faithfully served his country in the United States Army as a Corporal (E-4) in the AUS Artillery from 1952 through 1960 during the Korean War. He was united in marriage to Marjorie E. Huffer, April of 1954 in Warsaw, who preceded him Jan. 19, 2015. He was employed Custom Tile of Warsaw as Carpet and Flooring Installer and then by Kosciusko County Highway Department with 28 years of service prior to retiring and then by H.D. Creamer as a Carpet and Flooring Installer. He was a member of the N.R.A. and Warsaw American Legion Post #49. Ron was an avid attender of area auctions and a “member” of the McDonalds Morning Coffee Club.
He is survived by his son, Garry (Connie) Himes, Warsaw; five grandchildren: Beth (James) Weddell, Noblesville, Matt Rachelle) Himes, Warsaw, Brad and Brock Himes of Warsaw and Brianna Himes of Fort Wayne. He is also survived by seven great grandchildren, Alexis, Morgan, Nolan, Alex, Katelyn, Angel and Sophia. He was preceded by his wife, son Robert, brother Jack and a sister Vivian Joan.
A funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m., Friday, Nov. 9, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Mike Beezley officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw with military honors rendered by American Legion Post #49 and VFW Post #1126 and active duty members of the United States Army Honor Guard.
