Officers from the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
6:58 a.m. Friday, Nov. 2, North Boeing Road, Warsaw. Drivers: Akash D. Pandya, 25, Kuder Lane, Warsaw; Brody A. Bays, 18, East CR 1000S, Claypool. Pandya told police he was backing his vehicle out of a parking space and did not see the vehicle driven by Bays, causing the collision. Damage up to $5,000.
3:56 a.m. Friday, Nov. 2, West Lake Street, Warsaw. Driver: Nathan G. Arnold, 39, North Maple Street, South Whitley. Arnold told police his vehicle was parked in a parking spot and that he began to back the vehicle up to leave the parking spot and did not see a vehicle behind his. He said his vehicle collided with a parked vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
6:38 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, North Parker Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Kaitlyn M. Kubley, 28, Rozella Road, Warsaw; Lindsay M. Senders, 32, East Market Street, Warsaw. Kubley told police she was in her vehicle in the Lassus Handy Dandy parking lot and that her vehicle’s rear window was fogged over. She said she thought that Senders’ vehicle, which had been behind hers, had moved. She began to back up, causing her vehicle to collide with Senders’ vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
3:12 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, Fisher Avenue and Herscher Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Healther L. Scherer, 40, East Wilcken Road, Columbia City; Lori A. Miller, 44, Woodlawn Drive, Warsaw. Scherer told police she was driving her vehicle southbound on Fisher Avenue and was following the vehicle driven by Miller. She told police she looked down to move a cord that was next to her and when she looked up, Miller’s vehicle was stopped in front of her. She said she tried to avoid a collision but that her vehicle skidded on wet pavement and collided with the rear of Miller’s vehicle. Damage up to $10,000.
2:03 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, East Center Street and North Hickory Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Peggy E. Fitzpatrick, 66, East CR 800S, Claypool; Claudia F. Johnson, 60, Lake Tahoe Drive, Fort Wayne. Fitzpatrick told police she was driving her vehicle southbound on North Hickory Street and stopped at the stop sign on East Center Street. She said she did not see the vehicle driven by Johnson and pulled into the intersection, causing the collision between her vehicle and Johnson’s vehicle. Damage up to $10,000.
1:1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, Jalynn Street, Warsaw. Driver: Susan K. Wert, 56, North CR 825E, Mentone. According to police, witnesses stated that the vehicle driven by Wert was seen traveling southbound through the Warsaw Walmart parking lot at a high rate of speed. It reportedly entered the Lowe’s parking lot and eventually came to rest in the Lowe’s loading zone, having struck at least four vehicles during the incident. Wert was transported to the hospital and medics at the scene told police it was possible she suffered a seizure. Wert told police at the hospital that she did not recall the events that led to the crash. Police reported finding three bottles of prescription drugs in Wert’s purse. Results of a chemical blood test are pending. Damage up to $50,000.
