Kosciusko
Officers from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
12:24 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, West CR 200S, north of South SR 15, Warsaw. Drivers: Alisha W. Sallee, 30, South High Strret, Silver Lake; Daniel J. Kierpaul, 62, North CR 700W, Warsaw. Sallee told police both she and Kierpaul were stopped in their vehicles at a stop light, when her foot slipped off the brake, causing her vehicle to move forward and strike the rear of Kierpaul’s vehicle. Damage up to $1,000.
7:10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, East US 30, east of East Van Ness Road, Pierceton. Driver: John W. Tharp, 30, South Lake Sharon Road, Warsaw. Tharp told police he was driving his vehicle eastbound on US 30 when deer entered the roadway. He told police he was unable to avoid hitting the deer with his vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
4:11 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, West CR 1350N, east of North CR 700W, Nappanee. Drivers: Linda K. Clevenger, 65, Hawthorne Road, Plymouth; Elmer L. Peachey, 29, East SR 120, Howe. Clevenger told police she was driving her vehicle on CR 1350N and was pulling into a driveway. She said she began to back her vehicle up and struck Peachey’s vehicle, which was westbound on CR 1350N. Damage up to $50,000.
Pierceton
Officers from the Pierceton Police Department investigated the following accident:
8:38 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, SR 13, Pierceton. Drivers: Lawrence P. Flanagan, 18, Treviso Way, Fort Wayne; Jonathan W. Kirby, 19, CR 175E, Greencastle. Flanagan told police he was driving his vehicle northbound on SR 13, following fellow Manchester University student Kirby to an off-campus class. He said Kirby applied his brakes to avoid hitting a dog, which had just been struck and was lying in the roadway. Flanagan said he was unable to stop before his vehicle rear-ended Kirby’s vehicle. Damage up to $10,000.
Warsaw
Officers from the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
7:20 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, Walton Boulevard, Warsaw. Drivers: Jeremy J. Pulsipher, 39, West Crystal Flash Road, North Webster; Doris K. Chow, 43, Downy Drive, Warsaw. Pulsipher told police he was backing his vehicle out of a parking space at Walmart and did not see the vehicle driven by Chow, causing the collision. Damage up to $2,500.
4:31 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, Ranch Road and SR 15, Warsaw. Drivers: Stanley E. Kilmer, 67, West Catherine Street, Milford; Rosario Herendeen, 49, South Harkless Drive, Syracuse. Kilmer told police he was driving his vehicle northbound on Ranch Road and stopped behind Herendeen’s vehicle. He said he looked to the southwest to see if there was any traffic coming, at which time his vehicle struck the rear of Herendeen’s vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
3:54 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, SR 15 and East Fort Wayne Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Nancy S. Amiss, 81, Mary Mac Drive, Warsaw; Kevin T. Stone, 53, Harmony Court, Winona Lake. Amiss told police she was driving her vehicle northbound on SR 15 and was stopped at the red light on Fort Wayne Street. When the light turned green, she began to turn left onto Fort Wayne Street when her vehicle was struck by Stone’s vehicle, which was traveling southbound. Damage up to $25,000.
2:22 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, SR 15 and East Fort Wayne Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Ardith L. Sullenger, 64, CR 103, Wakarusa; Damien D. Howard, 19, East Center Street, Warsaw. Sullenger told police she was driving her vehicle southbound on SR 15 and proceeded to make a left turn onto Fort Wayne Street, not seeing the northbound vehicle driven by Howard. The two vehicles collided in the intersection. Sullenger complained of chest pain and Howard complained of pain to the right knee, but both drivers signed off for medical treatment at the scene. Damage up to $10,000.
7:32 a.m. Oct. 30, West Winona Avenue, west of South Columbia St., Warsaw. Driver: Steve E. Breeden, 52, Widaman Street, Winona Lake. Breeden told police he was driving his vehicle westbound on West Winona Avenue when a black 2014 Dodge passenger vehicle registered to John E. Batta, Heritage Drive, Rochester, began to pass and then struck his vehicle in the side mirror and front fender. Breeden told police the vehicle continued westbound and sped up, leaving the scene. Damage up to $5,000.
