Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
6:55 a.m. Monday, Oct. 29, North CR 500W, south of West US 30, Atwood. Driver: Linbeth Doggendorf, 45, North CR 850W 92, Pierceton. Doggendorf was traveling south on CR 500W when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $5,000.
7:03 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, East State Street, west of North Walnut Street, Etna Green. Driver: Patrick J. Morr, 56, West CR 300N, Etna Green. Officers received a call regarding a hit and run vehicle accident. Upon arrival, officers noticed a Mediacom utility pole severed at the base. Officers located a vehicle parked at a nearby gas station with heavy front end damage. The driver, identified as Morr, said he was drinking and didn’t know what happened. Morr was traveling east on State Street when his vehicle drove off the roadway and collided with a utility pole. Damage up to $25,000.
6:27 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, East CR 300N, west of North CR 100E, Warsaw. Driver: Justin L. Perry, 37, North Royal Oak Court, Warsaw. Perry was traveling west on East CR 300N when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $2,500.
4:36 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, West US 30, east of North CR 800W, Warsaw. Drivers: Bryan P. Wong, 31, East Birchwood Court, Warsaw; and Christopher J. Mock, 33, North Royal Oak Court, Warsaw. Wong was traveling south on CR 800W when he pulled across US 30, not noticing Mock’s vehicle. Mock turned to avoid a high speed collision, causing his vehicle to leave the roadway, going down an embankment and through a fence. Damage up to $10,000.
1:32 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, North SR 13, south of North CR 650E, Warsaw. Driver: Cynthia T. Evans, 64, East CR 650N, North Webster. Evans was traveling south on SR 13 when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $10,000.
11:05 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, East US 30, east of CR 900E, Pierceton. Driver: Jennifer L. Holt, 34, Plantation Drive, Columbia City. Holt was traveling west on US 30 when her vehicle slid on the wet roadway, overcorrected, and slid into a ditch, coming to a stop after crashing into a fence. Holt complained of pain and was also pregnant. She was transported to the hospital to be checked for any injuries. Damage up to $5,000.
5:46 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, East US 30, east of East CR 200S, Warsaw. Driver: Maria M. Gomez, 45, East Springfield Drive, Warsaw. Gomez was traveling east on US 30 when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $10,000.
2:46 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, South SR 15, south of West CR 300S, Warsaw. Driver: Sarah A. Eller, 45, West CR 700S, Claypool. Eller was traveling south on SR 15 when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $10,000.
6:43 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, North Lake Street, west of Fox Farm Road, Warsaw. Drivers: Joan M. Evans, 60, South Lake Street, Warsaw; and James A. Wright, 29, East Kammerer Road, Kendallville. Evans was traveling west on West Lake Street when Wright’s vehicle suddenly stopped. Wright had to immediately brake to avoid crashing into a vehicle in front of him. Evans’ vehicle rear-ended Wright’s. Damage up to $10,000.
4:43 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, South CR 1000W, south of West CR 500S, Warsaw. Driver: Michael R. Kimble, 46, South CR 1000W, Claypool. Kimble was traveling south on CR 1000W when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $10,000.
1:13 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, East CR 450N, east of North CR 100E, Warsaw. Drivers: Eric G. Griner, 27, Railside Drive, Syracuse; and Angela D. Elliott, 46, North CR 375E, Warsaw. Griner was at a stop sign when he pulled forward and struck Elliott’s vehicle. Elliott was turning left. Damage up to $5,000.
4:08 p.m. Monday, Oct. 22, West US 30, near CR 700W, Etna Green. Drivers: David A. Baltosser, 62, North Memory Lane, Warsaw; and Ashley A. Vervaet, 40, North CR 700W, Warsaw. Both vehicles were stopped in a median crossover on US 30. Baltosser was preparing to turn left onto US 30 when he struck Vervaet’s vehicle in the left rear. Baltosser said he thought that he had cleared Vervaet’s vehicle while turning left. Damage up to $10,000.
7:29 a.m. Monday, Oct. 22, Pequignot Drive, near East CR 250S, Pierceton. Driver: Johnny W. Couch, 52, South Main Street, South Whitley. Couch was traveling east on Pequignot Drive when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $2,500.
North Webster
Officers with the North Webster Police Department investigated the following accidents:
7:51 a.m. Monday, Oct. 29, 4987 N. SR 13, North Webster. Drivers: Leslie R. Ogan, 47, EMS B6 Lane, Leesburg; and Sandra L. Minnick, 75, EMS B65 Lane, Warsaw. Ogan was backing out of a parking spot and did not see Minnick’s vehicle driving behind her. Damage up to $1,000.
6:49 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, 7822 E. Epworth Forest Road, North Webster. Drivers: Kelly S. Shock, 53, North SR 13, North Webster; and Linda K. Stookey, 75, North CR 700E, Leesburg. Shock was backing her vehicle from a parking spot when her vehicle struck Stookey’s parked, unoccupied vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
Syracuse
Officers with the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following accident:
3:17 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, South Huntington Street, south of Maple Grove Road, Syracuse. Drivers: Nicholas K. Adams, 22, County Road 46, Goshen; and Robert E. Krevinghaus, 65, East CR 450N, Pierceton. Adams was traveling south on South Huntington Street when his vehicle rear-ended Krevinghaus’. Damage up to $5,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
2:48 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, Ranch Road, near Henderson Drive, Warsaw. Driver: Julie R. Wieland, 38, Woodland Drive, North Manchester. Wieland was traveling south on Ranch Road when a deer entered the roadway. Her vehicle hit the deer, causing it to flip up and hit windshield and roof of her vehicle. Damage up to $10,000.
10:28 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, Lake City Highway, near Springhill Drive, Warsaw. Driver: Micaela M. Box, 21, South Collier Street, Bremen. Box was traveling west on Lake City Highway when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $2,500.
2:48 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, US 30, near East Old Road 30, Warsaw. Drivers: Cherylee Wood, 57, South Hadley Road, Fort Wayne; and Kenneth B. Ellenberger, 57, East CR 1000S, Claypool. Wood was traveling east on US 30 when she rear-ended Ellenberger’s vehicle at an intersection. Damage up to $2,500.
12:39 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, 1775 E. Center St., Warsaw. Driver: unknown. A light tan SUV backed away from air pumps at the location when it struck a parked vehicle. The SUV fled the scene, traveling eastbound. Damage up to $2,500.
3:48 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, SR 15, south of Anchorage Road, Warsaw. Drivers: Joaquin Juarez, 52, Administration Boulevard, Winona Lake; and Jeffrey D. Taylor, 46, North CR 500W, Leesburg. Juarez was traveling south on SR 15 when he changed lanes to go around a turning vehicle. When he moved into the left lane, Juarez’s vehicle struck Taylor’s vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
1:07 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, 2556 Walton Blvd., Warsaw. Driver: Katelyn E. Miller, 21, West CR 650N, Etna Green. Miller was traveling in a parking area when the front passenger door of a parked vehicle opened. Miller’s vehicle hit the door. Damage up to $2,500.
12:04 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, 852 N. Parker St., Warsaw. Driver: Nichole J. Rose, 47, South CR 50W, Claypool. Rose was attempting to back her vehicle out of a parking spot when she collided with a parked, unoccupied vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
Winona Lake
Officers with the Winona Lake Police Department investigated the following accident:
12:09 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, 610 Wooster Road, Winona Lake. Driver: Nancy C. Hartle, 59, South Zimmer Road, Warsaw. Hartle said she was attempting to locate someone and was looking around while driving. She did not see a light pole with a concrete base, causing her vehicle to strike it head-on. Damage up to $10,000.
