Craig Allen Byers
Craig Allen Byers, 55, Pierceton, passed away at 1:15 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 25, 2018, at his residence.
He was born May 9, 1963, in Johnstown, Penn. to Dolores Marlene (Jordan) Byers and Glenn Carl Byers. On Aug. 24, 1985, he was married to Marlene (Cundiff) Byers, who survives.
He was a resident of Kosciusko County, for the past 53 years where he was a 1981 graduate of Lakeland Christian Academy in Warsaw. He attended Grace College in Winona Lake, where he received his bachelor’s degree in counseling in 1985. He ministered at Grace Brethren Navajo Missions in New Mexico from 1990-1992. He worked in construction and for the past 17 years was a self-employed home renovations contractor. He enjoyed fishing and restoring Volkswagen Beetles. He especially enjoyed his dog Molly. He never knew a stranger, was good hearted and always had an eye for the needy, most of all he was very bold with his faith and will be dearly missed.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 33 years, Marlene Byers, Pierceton; two sisters: Valerie Brown, Fort Wayne; Noreen (Michael) Pollock,Fishers; brother: Brent (Brenda) Byers, Warsaw; his mother: Dolores M. Byers, Warsaw; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Pastor Glenn Carl Byers on Aug. 11, 2018.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., Monday, Oct. 29, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 30, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home and officiated by Pastor Ken Chupp. A private family graveside service will take place at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw.
