Warsaw Man Arrested For Stealing From Collier’s Heating And Cooling
WINONA LAKE — A Warsaw man was arrested after stealing scrapped air conditioning units from Collier’s Heating and Cooling.
Joshua Wayne Alair Galvin, 38, 920 Anchorage Road 101, Warsaw, is being charged with theft, a class A misdemeanor; and sentence enhancement theft, a level 6 felony.
On Tuesday, July 24, an officer with the Winona Lake Police Department responded to a theft at Collier’s Heating and Cooling.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, a Collier’s employee said sometime between July 20 and July 23, someone stole 12 scrapped air conditioning units from the property. The aluminum and copper in the scrapped units was valued at $500.
On July 25, the employee reported another theft of aluminum and copper metals from the property.
Lewis Salvage informed the officer that it paid Galvin $267.90 for aluminum and copper on July 23. The company also paid Galvin $508.15 for aluminum and copper on July 25.
The officer located Galvin in the Kosciusko County Jail in regards to his outstanding warrants. Galvin said that on two occasions, he stole scrap metal from Collier’s in order to pay bills.
The theft charges were filed on Sept. 24, and a warrant was issued for his arrest. Galvin has a previous conviction for theft in Kosciusko Superior Court II on May 16.
Galvin was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on Oct. 22, with a $5,250 surety and cash bond.
