Ronald ‘Ron’ Leiter
Ronald “Ron” Leiter, 78, Plymouth, passed away at 5:42 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 11, 2018, in Mason Health and Rehabilitation Center, Warsaw. He was born in Kosciusko County on July 21, 1940, to LeRoy and Willodean (Brown) Leiter.
He lived most of his life in Claypool and recently in Plymouth. On Aug. 30, 1986, he was united in marriage to Arlene Cook in South Whitley. He attended Claypool School from Elementary School thru High School. He also received a Surveyor Certification from Purdue for his position at the Kosciusko County Highway Department; where he worked as an Assistant Engineer for 33 years before retiring. He attended Crossroads Church in Plymouth as well as First Freewill Baptist Church, Claypool. In addition, he loved playing Euchre, enjoyed NASCAR, basketball, his stereo, record and album collection and country music; especially Elvis and Glen Campbell. He loved his family dearly.
Ron Leiter is survived by his wife: Arlene Leiter of Plymouth; children: Steve (Tina) Leiter of Nevada; Angie (Rick) Stewart of Claypool; step-daughters: Deanna (York) Young of Fort Wayne; Cyndi (Ty) Slabaugh of Middlebury; and Tonya (Mike) May of Plymouth; 15 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; brothers: Jim (Sereta) Leiter of Arizona; Ted (Karen) Leiter of Akron; several nieces and a nephew also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Shari Leiter, and a brother; Pete Leiter.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., Monday, Oct. 15, in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. A funeral service is scheduled for 2 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 16 at the funeral home. Pastor Terry Bradford will officiate. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery, Claypool.
