Man Mistakenly Released From Noble County Jail Recaptured
NOBLE COUNTY — A man who was mistakenly let out of the Noble County Jail earlier this week has been captured.
The Noble County Sheriff’s Office said Charles Lee Wiedman, 35, was “incorrectly” released from the Noble County Jail on Tuesday. The sheriff’s department said Wiedman appeared in Noble County court and was granted an early release which was to take place Oct. 23, not Tuesday.
After the release, police asked for the public’s help to find Wiedman, who’d been jailed on an auto theft charge.
Early Thursday then, Noble County police were tipped off that Wiedman was in a home on Perkins Street in Kendallville. Around 6:30 a.m., police served a search warrant at the home and found Wiedman and another individual inside.
Wiedman will not face additional charges. He’s set to be released from jail Oct. 23.
