Dunes Volleyball Clubs Looking For Prospects
WARSAW – The Dunes Volleyball Club is offering teams for boys and girls in grades kindergarten through 12th grades.
All participants must try out for an evaluation and team placement, but the DVC intends to place everyone on a team. There are several practice locations around northern Indiana, including the Warsaw area, Goshen College, LaPorte and Merrillville.
Tryout dates for local teams begin Sunday, Oct. 7, at Warsaw Community High School from 5:30-7:30 p.m. for 10-14 year olds as well as Sunday, Oct. 14, at Goshen College from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for 11-14 year olds and noon-2 p.m. for 15-18 year olds.
The DVC is a budding organization that has competed at high levels on the local, regional and national levels. The national teams are designed for those serious about the game of volleyball and looking to play at a high level year-round. Practices are 2-3 times a week with a goal of reaching the AAU Nationals in Orlando, Fla. Semi travel teams are designed for players who still want to train and play at a high level, but in shortened seasons. These teams play December through May. Local teams play less often, practicing 1-2 times a week with two sessions from December through March and March through May.
