L. Dean Blanton
L. Dean Blanton, 76, Warsaw, passed away Sunday, October 7, 2018 at 9:09 PM in Lutheran Hospital of Indiana, Fort Wayne. He was born on Sept. 8, 1942, in Paintsville, Ky. to Estil and Dorthy (Caudill) Blanton.
He was a lifelong resident of Warsaw. On May 25, 1962 he was united in marriage to Lois Hively in Atwood. He worked at Dalton Foundry as a Core Maker and retired after 45 years of service. Mr. Blanton was a man of faith and loved God. In addition, he enjoyed yardwork, sports in general; especially Kentucky basketball, he loved his family dearly and the love he had for his Grandsons in particular held a special place in his heart.
He is survived by his wife: Lois Blanton, Warsaw; son: Larry (Sharon) Blanton, Warsaw; sister: Lois (Bill) Slone, Claypool; brother: Gene (Sue) Blanton, Packerton; grandsons: Michael (Gavin) Blanton, Warsaw; Darren Burchett (fiancé Melissa Rice), Warsaw; Eric (Kerissa) Blanton, Marietta, Ga.; step-great grandchildren: Abigail and Zidion Rose. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, one brother and one daughter, Wendy Burchett.
A funeral service will be held at noon, Friday, Oct. 12, with Brother Tim Slone officiating in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
The Blanton Family asks that in lieu of flowers, charitable contributions to the donor’s favorite charity be considered.
