LAKEVIEW 8TH GRADE WINS HOME TOURNEY
Lakeview took care of business in its home tourney, sweeping its three games for the championship on Saturday.
Lakeview beat Logansport 25-16, 25-16, Churubusco 25-18, 25-20, and Woodside 17-25, 25-17, 15-8.
Leading the Lakeview team were Madison Desenberg with 11 kills and three blocks, Tessa Graney with 23 assists, nine aces and nine kills, Kinsey Atkins with six assists and an ace, Caitlyn Patrick with 19 kills, 14 assists, four aces and a block, Sophia Adams with 13 aces and a kill, and Chrissy Rice with four kills.
LAKEVIEW 7TH GRADE WINS HOME TOURNEY
Lakeview swept its three games to claim the title in its home tourney on Saturday.
Lakeview (24-5) beat Logansport 25-20, 25-20, Churubusco 25-14, 25-22, and Woodside 25-11, 25-13.
For the champs, Clara Porter had 13 aces, 12 set assists, and four kills, Colette Blackburn had 15 kills, Kenzie Chivington had 14 aces, 11 set assists and two kills, Olivia Devenney had seven aces and Abigail Davis had three aces.
SOUTHWOOD 8TH GRADE 2, TIPPECANOE VALLEY 1
Southwood knocked Valley out of the Running Rivers Conference semi-finals by a score of 24-25, 25-18, 15-5.
Rily Holloway had four kills and two aces to lead the Vikings, and Emily McGriff had four kills and two blocks. Karli Hogue added six digs and both Abby Koch and Brooke Kamp had a pair of aces.
WARSAW JV SECOND AT NLC TOURNEY
Warsaw finished as runner-up at the Northern Lakes Conference JV tournament hosted by Elkhart Memorial. The Chargers won the title, beating Warsaw in the championship game.
Wawasee was 1-2 in the tourney and NorthWood was 2-2.
