Busy Week Planned At Syracuse Library
SYRACUSE — Book clubs, cooking club and chess club are meeting on the second week of October at the Syracuse Library. Turkey Creek Readers meets Monday, Oct. 8 at 4:30 p.m. The discussion will be based on the Sophie Kinsella stand-alone, “Surprise Me.” Because the discussion focuses on related topics, it is not necessary to read the book to enjoy the discussion.
Magnolia Cooking Club is on the second round of activities, with a demonstration of cupcake decorating on Wednesday, Oct. 10 at 4 p.m. So that enough cupcake samples will be available, registration is requested.
For those who want more than computer chess, the chance to meet other players is on Tuesday, Oct. 9 at 6 p.m. All ages and skill levels are invited. Also meeting in the teen area is a book group for teens on Thursday, Oct. 11 at 5 p.m.
For children, kindergarten through third grade, book club meets on Tuesday at 5 p.m. There are many sluethful activities while reading the adventures of Nate the Great.
Story times meet on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings at 10:30 a.m. Chair yoga meets on Tuesday morning at 10:15 a.m.
WorkOne is offering classes by the computers from 1 to 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 10. Computers will be reserved to additional guidance with job searches and other job-related skills.
Kids have time to come to the library after school for Fun at Four on Thursdays. New projects, that include preparing a snack, playing a game or making an art activity, are provided at the Syracuse Library every week.
