WARSAW — Warsaw Community High School is being awarded the Indiana Gold Star School Counseling Award presented by the Indiana Department of Education. WCHS earned this award by participating in the Redesigning School Counseling process sponsored by the American Student Achievement Institute.
The Gold Star School Counseling Award highlights the hours of work completed by the school counseling steering team and advisory council in designing a vision-based and data-driven school counseling program that meets the academic, career, and social/emotional development needs of your students.
The WCHS counseling program meets or exceeds the nine components of the Indiana School Counseling Program Standards. Receiving the Indiana Gold Star School Counseling Award also qualifies WCHS to be a recipient of the American School Counselor Association’s national award called Recognized ASCA Model Program.
The Indiana Gold Star School Counseling Award presentation will be held at the Indiana School Counselor Association Conference in November at the Marriott East Hotel in Indianapolis.
