Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accident:
1:41 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, West CR 1350N, west of North CR 500W, Nappanee. Driver: Stephen T. Conrad, 68, North Southshore Drive, Syracuse. Conrad was eastbound on CR 1350N. A horse and buggy was traveling westbound. Conrad advised the horse must have become spooked, resulting in the horse running into Conrad’s vehicle. Conrad’s vehicle had major damage and had to be towed from the scene. Damage up to $50,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
5:20 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, East Market Street, west of South Wood Street, Warsaw. Driver: Linda L. Hathaway, 76, Cardinal Drive, Bryan, Ohio. Hathaway was driving west on East Market Street and struck a parked, unoccupied vehicle on the right side of the road. Damage up to $5,000.
8:09 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, South Zimmer Road, north of West Winona Avenue, Warsaw. Drivers: Omar Hernandez, 17, West CR 250S 120, Warsaw; and Deborah A. Chalk, 61, River Road Ext., North Manchester. Hernandez was following Chalk’s vehicle when his vehicle rear-ended hers. Chalk said she was experiencing a little neck pain but did not want medical attention at the scene. Damage up to $10,000.
3:27 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, West Fort Wayne and North Washington streets, Warsaw. Driver: Clelda Benning, 69, 2406 E. Winona Ave, Winona Lake. While driving a school bus, Benning made a left-hand turn and the bus struck a parked car registered to Deborah Ellingwood, Claypool. There were three passengers on the bus at the time of the accident but no one was injured. Damages up to $5,000.
