Another Successful Year In 5K Build A Home-Run Benefiting Kosciusko County Habitat For Humanity
KOSCIUSKO — The Kosciusko Board of Realtors is pleased to announce its fourth annual 5K Build A Home-Run was another huge success, raising $4,690.
The family-friendly fall event was held on Saturday, Sept. 29, at the Trails of Winona Lake. All proceeds, including sponsorship and runner fees, go to Habitat for Humanity. One of Habitat’s families, Jim and Tina Bauer, joined the Runners before the race kicked off. With Habitat for Humanity, the Bauer’s have gained a team of people, including the Realtor family, who want to help them and support them through the process.
“We always had in the back of our mind, ‘Where are we going to live?'” said Jim Bauer. “We’d like that moment that says, ‘We’re safe. We’re in our own home.'”
By sharing the same vision as Habitat, to provide safe, affordable housing in Kosciusko County, Realtors hope to make an impact in the lives of this and other families and also benefit the county by providing stable home occupancy. In addition to specific age groups, award medals were given to overall male and female winners.
