Officers with the Milford Police Department investigated the following accident:
1:47 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, 410 N. Higbee St., Milford. Driver: Thomas H. Cody, 58, North Franklin Street, Mentone. Cody was backing his vehicle when he struck a parked, unoccupied vehicle. Damage up to $1,000.
Pierceton
Officers with the Pierceton Police Department investigated the following accident:
8:25 a.m. Monday, Sept. 24, US 30, west of SR 13, Pierceton. Drivers: Shannon Caudill, 35, Taylor Lane, Jeffersonville, Ky.; and Andrei Rotaru, 32, Quaker Lane, Prospect Heights Lane, Ill. Caudill was traveling east on US 30. As she applied her brakes to slow down for an intersection, her vehicle’s brakes failed, causing her to rear-end Rotaru’s semi-tractor trailer. Damage up to $10,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
6:32 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, West Center Street, east of Leiter Drive, Warsaw. Driver: Cristian O. Garcia, 25, South Washington Street, Warsaw. Garcia was traveling south on Leiter Drive when his vehicle lost traction and spun around, hitting the north side of the road’s curb and impacting a “truck route” sign. The sign that was struck was left leaning after the accident and will need to be re-installed. Damage up to $10,000.
5:23 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, US 30, near Spring Hill Road, Warsaw. Drivers: Robert K. Bryant, 48, EMS B44 Lane, Leesburg; Michaela M. Speicher, 44, North CR 300E, Syracuse; and Bradley H. Kinkade, 59, Scott Drive 8, Dwight, Ill. Speicher was traveling east on US 30 when the vehicle in front of her applied its brakes to make a U-turn. Speicher slammed on her brakes when Bryant rear-ended her vehicle. Bryant’s vehicle then traveled into Kinkade’s lane of travel. Bryant’s vehicle was impacted by the tires of Kinkade’s vehicle. Bryant was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital due to his injuries. He complained of face pain, arm pain, and leg pain. Damage up to $25,000.
3:20 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, South Logan Street, near West Winona Avenue, Warsaw. Drivers: Halle S. Ship, 17, West Prairie Street, Leesburg; and Pedro R. Sarabia, 20, West Center Street, Warsaw. Ship was traveling west on Winona Avenue when she attempted to turn left onto Logan Street. However, Ship cut the left turn too sharp, causing her vehicle to enter the travel path of Sarabia’s vehicle. Damage up to $10,000.
3:06 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, 302 W. Market St., Warsaw. Driver: Brita L. Greer, 42, EMS C30 Lane, Warsaw. Greer pulled into the Owen’s Supermarket parking lot when she struck a yellow parking lot pole. Greer said she did not see the pole prior to the crash. Greer’s vehicle was towed from the scene. Damage up to $10,000.
5:39 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, US 30, east of Center Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Rebecca L. Ramsey, 75, Hackberry Drive, Fort Wayne; Carrye E. Boggs, 37, East Fort Wayne Street, Warsaw; and James M. Craig, 25, Heron Boulevard, Warsaw. Ramsey fell asleep while driving, causing her vehicle to rear-end Boggs’ vehicle. This caused Boggs’ vehicle to rear-end Craig’s vehicle. A passenger in Ramsey’s vehicle, Rebecca P. Gunter, 22, Fort Wayne, was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital after sustaining nose and facial injuries in the accident. A second passenger in Ramsey’s vehicle, Alessandra Gunter, 16, Fort Wayne, was also transported by EMS due to complaint of pain. A passenger in Boggs’ vehicle, Patty VanNess, 66, Warsaw, was transported to KCH due to complaint of pain. Damage up to $25,000.
10:33 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2500 Walton Blvd., Warsaw. Drivers: Tomara A. Purdy, 45, East Lakeview Trail, Leesburg; and Jose J. Dominguez, 18, River Road, Goodrich, TX. Purdy was entering an access road when she struck Dominguez’s vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
