Sandra Kay ‘Sandy’ Toney
Sandra Kay “Sandy” Toney, 70, Nappanee, died at 11:15 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 20, 2018, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Wakarusa. She was born Sept. 9, 1948, in Warsaw to Allen E. and Bertha (Method) McDonald.
She lived her lifetime in the Nappanee area and was was a 1966 graduate of Nappanee High School. On Oct. 26, 1984, she married Robert Toney in Gravelton. He preceded her in death Sept. 18, 2007.
Sandy was a Real Estate Agent and loved caring for the buyer and seller. She was a member of the National Association of Realtors, Indiana Association of Realtors, Elkhart County MLS, Elkhart County Builders Association, Goshen Chamber of Commerce, member and past president of Nappanee Kiwanis, Master Gardner of Elkhart County, Nappanee Quilt garden committee, member and past president of Nappanee Home and Garden Club, member and past president of Psi Iota Xi Sorority.
She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also loved flowers, traveling, and shopping. She was a member of the First Brethren Church.
She is survived by her daughter: Pebbles (Jeff) Unsicker, Bremen; stepchildren: David Toney, Angola, Rhonda Toney, Nappanee and Jill (Steve) Robinson, Granger; six grandchildren 12 great grandchildren; and brothers: Russ (Sue) McDonald, Nappanee, Mike (Barb) McDonald, Noblesville, Scott (Kathy) Parker and Frank “Frankie” (Barb) Parker IV, both of Warsaw. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Ryan Unsicker.
Family and friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 29, at First Brethren Church in Nappanee followed by a memorial service at 4 p.m. Rev. Tom Schiefer will officiate. Interment will be in Bremen Cemetery at a later date.
