South Bend Airport Introduces Fly Local Campaign
SOUTH BEND — Whether you’re flying for business or pleasure, you may want to consider going local.
South Bend International Airport is urging local businesses to fly their employees out of its airport instead of traveling to bigger airports like Chicago or Indianapolis.
This new campaign – called Project Propel – could have an impact on our community.
With more businesses flying their travelers out of South Bend, more improvements could be made to the airport. More flights could be added. And the economic impact would be beneficial for the community.
“The economic impact of having travelers start their air travel from South Bend instead of these other communities could have up to $100 million impact on our community, so it is real dollars we are talking about and it really does make an impact,” said Julie Curtis, director of marketing and development. “The more people that utilize the airport, the more growth we will continue to see.”
Flying locally would allow South Bend International airport to add more direct routes to Washington, DC and Denver. It could also allow the airport to bring in bigger aircraft.
If your business wants to fly locally the airport says to go to ProjectPropel.com and fill out a template.
