Ruth J. Horn
Ruth J. Horn, 93, Pierceton, passed away at 9:49 a.m., Sept. 15, 2018, in Mason’s Health and Rehabilitation in Warsaw.
She was born in Pierceton Oct. 8, 1924, to Ben and Jessie (Keefer) Rider.
She was a life member of the American Legion Unit 258 and V.F.W. Unit 1126 and was past president of each. She loved playing cards and doing deeds for others.
She is survived by two daughters: Jeanette Warren, Belleview, Colo.; Jane (Tim) Sterling, Darlington; and five sons: Leslie (Barb) Keener, Albion; Jerome (Marsha) Keener, Pierceton; Jeremy (and companion Starr Myers) Horn, Niles, Mich.; Chris Keener, Wabash; and Bill (Tammy) Keener, Barnett, Mo. She is further survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded by a brother, Robert Rider and two sisters; Mildred Black and Doris Jean Rackeweg and two grandsons; Shane Keener and Michael Keener.
A visitation will be held from 3-5 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 19, in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel in Pierceton. A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m., with Chaplain Jerry Hartman of Pierceton American Legion Post 258 officiating. Interment will take place at a later date.
