Milford Public Library: September is Library Card Sign-Up Month
MILFORD — Get a library card this September and gain access to hundreds of books, audiobooks, DVDs, CDs, and more at Milford Public Library.
A library card is one of the most cost-effective back-to-school supplies available. Library Card Sign-Up Month is a time to highlight the supportive role libraries and librarians play in transforming lives and communities through education. Studies show that children who are read to in the home and who use the library perform better in school and are more likely to continue to utilize libraries as a source of lifelong learning.
Anyone who lives in or owns property in Van Buren or East Jefferson Township can get a library card at Milford. If you are a student, teacher or staff member in Wawasee Community School Corporation, you can get a library card.
Residents and property holders of Van Buren and East Jefferson townships who are at least six years old can get a library card for free. Students, teachers and staff members in the Wawasee Community School Corporation can also get a card for free.
To get a library card, bring in two forms of identification, such as a driver’s license and a piece of mail with a current address.
If you get a new library card at Milford Public Library during the month of September, you can have your photo taken with The Incredibles.
