18th Annual Cubmobile Event Held In Downtown Warsaw
WARSAW — The Lincolnway Cubmobile was held Saturday, Sept. 15, in downtown Warsaw. The race was held on Main and Indiana streets.
The event has scouts from throughout northeast Indiana competing one-on-one in homemade race cars, vying for first place in six classes, including featherweight, bantam, middle weight, fly weight, heavyweight and unlimited. Boys and girls in grades 1-5 were eligible to compete in the event.
Unit Commissioner Jim Reeve said, “The cars are all homemade. Each individual Cub Scout pack makes the cars or the families will make the cars.”
According to Reeve, the cars cannot weigh more than 45 lbs. The event is timed, with all drivers racing twice. The times are then averaged.
This is the 18th year for the annual event.
