Motorcyclist Suffers Non-Life Threatening Injuries In Wreck
SYRACUSE — A motorcyclist, who was riding a Yamaha motorcycle, was airlifted to a Fort Wayne hospital late this afternoon with non-life threatening injuries after being struck by a Ford Escape.
The accident occurred on SR 13 in front of Newmarket Grocery. The driver of the Escape exited the parking lot of the grocery store and was crossing SR 13 when he struck the motorcyclist, who was traveling southbound on SR 13. The motorcyclist was thrown off his bike and landed in a near-by ditch.
Law enforcement officials stated the motorcyclist was talking as he was loaded into the ambulance to be transported to the landing zone for the med-flight.
The driver of the Escape told law enforcement he did not see the motorcyclist. Syracuse Police and Turkey Creek Fire responded to the accident.
