Kosciusko
Officers from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accident:
7:45 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, North CR 700W, north of West CR 400N, Atwood. Driver: Susan R. Frain, 63, North CR 600W, Topeka. Frain told police she was driving her vehicle southbound on CR 700W when a deer entered the roadway. She was unable to avoid hitting the deer. Damage up to $5,000.
Milford
Officers from the Milford Police Department investigated the following accident:
6:08 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, North East Street, south of East Smith Street, Milford. Driver: Robert M. McKay, 59, East Smith Street, Milford. McKay told police he was driving his vehicle southbound on North East Street when a hornet or wasp began buzzing around his upper body. He said he thought he brought his vehicle to a complete stop in order to let the insect out of his vehicle, but that it was not stopped and collided with a parked car. Damage up to $5,000.
Warsaw
Officers from the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
11:03 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, East Winona Avenue, west of South Wood Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Larry E. Buckmaster, 78, Westbarry Trail, South Bend; Randy A. McKean, 55, CR 41, Waterloo. Buckmaster told police he was backing out of a parking spot and that due to having his view blocked by a parked vehicle, did not see the vehicle driven by McKean, causing him to pull into its path. Damage up to $10,000.
8:24 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, SR 15 and Tiger Lane, Warsaw. Drivers: Kenneth J. Graff, 35, East Van Buren Street, Leesburg; Marcie L. Anders, 44, South CR 325E, Warsaw. Graff told police he was stopped in his vehicle in the left turn lane of Tiger Lane, waiting to make a left turn onto SR 15. She did not see any traffic and pulled into the path of Anders’ vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
