WARSAW 193, WHITKO 215
Warsaw’s girls golf team closed out its regular season with a 193-215 win over host Whitko at Sycamore Golf Club Tuesday.
Izzy Ray earned match medalist honors with a score of 44 for the Lady Tigers. Madelyn Ray shot 47, and Julia Hildebrand and Miriam Hagg posted a pair of 51s, while Grayson Kilburn’s 52 was the team’s fifth score.
Augusta Garr led the girls from Whitko with a 50. Erin Starkweather had a 53, Bailey Wright shot a 55 and Summer West carded 57.
Warsaw’s JV also participated, shooting a team score of 197 led by Anna Morgan’s 46. Marie Frazzetta also broke 50 with a score of 48, Sydney Lancaster carded 50, Delaney Byron shot 53, and Brooklyn Fitzgerald turned in a 61.
The Tigers finish 12-4 on the season and will begin postseason play on Saturday at their home sectional at Stonehenge with a tee time of 9 a.m. The Lady Cats will host Columbia City on Thursday in their last dual match of the season.
HUNTINGTON INVITATIONAL
Grace’s women’s golf team finished third at the Huntington Invitational on Monday and Tuesday.
The Lady Lancers beat out three Crossroads League teams (Spring Arbor, Huntington, Mt. Vernon Nazarene) at Brookwood Golf Club.
Lauren Keiser and Anna Marshall tied for the team lead with 156 over the two-day tournament. Marshall shot 78 both rounds, and Keiser went 76-80.
Sydney Abbott carded an 83-81, and Kristin Holt was right behind at 83-84. Rachel Harvey rounded out the team’s scoring with a tournament total of 170.
Libby Tully (84-80) and Kara Godsey (85-81) both had strong showings while playing for Grace’s B team.
The Lady Lancers will host the Pure Michigan Invitational at Quail Ridge Golf Club on Sept. 19.
