Board Of Aviation Commissioners Discusses Rehab For Runway 1836
WARSAW — Business at this month’s Board of Aviation Commissioners meeting held Tuesday, Sept. 11, was brief, focusing on upcoming rehabilitation for runway 1836.
Ken Ross of NGC Aviation Consultants said that 90 percent of the funds for the project are federal. The airport will also receive a grant within the next two weeks for the project. Ross said the changes to the plan for the runway include alterations involving concrete and asphalt.
Ross has also researched possibilities regarding the isolation of power lines at the airport.
Fuel usage for the airport is up in comparison to August 2017. Airport Manager Nick King said that the airport is currently pulling its weight with income. He mentioned that possible equipment purchases will be addressed at next month’s meeting.
During the meeting, the board signed the contract for the purchase of hangar 29 by Brian Walsh. The purchase was approved last month.
The board also approved the purchase of hangar 27 by D.J. Kierpaul. Steve Petro is the former owner of the hangar.
