FAA Investigating Near Miss During Notre Dame Flyover
SOUTH BEND — The Federal Aviation Administration says it is investigating reports of a near miss — two aircrafts narrowly avoiding a collision — during the flyover at the Notre Dame game Saturday night.
The FAA says it occurred around 7:30 p.m.
They say that a Cessna Citation aircraft was on final to South Bend when the F-15 aircrafts arrived for the flyover during the Notre Dame-Michigan game.
The FAA says it is reviewing to see if separation standards were violated. It involves reviewing the flight data to measure the exact distance between the aircraft.
The investigation can take several weeks or more.
