Warsaw Man Arrested For Battery On Pregnant Female
WARSAW — A Warsaw man was recently arrested after police say he battered a female who was eight months pregnant.
Dexter Ross Nine, 32, 3699 N. CR 175E 182, Warsaw, is being charged with battery causing bodily injury to a pregnant woman, a level 5 felony, and battery causing moderate bodily injury, a level 6 felony.
On Aug. 22, an officer with the Warsaw Police Department responded to a battery call. Dispatch informed the officer that the subjects were in a parked Pontiac. The officer arrived and was able to locate the described vehicle. Inside the vehicle, the officer saw a pregnant female with dried blood on her lips and redness on the sides of her neck and face.
The female told the officers that Nine had caused her injuries. According to the female, Nine punched her, grabbed her by the head and forced her upper body into the side of the vehicle. The female told the officer that she is eight months pregnant.
The officer spoke with the witness who had reported the battery. The witness stated she saw a male subject “beating” on a subject with his closed fist at least 10 times. The witness followed the vehicle until the officer arrived.
Nine was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on Aug. 22, with a $10,250 surety and cash bond.
