Volleyball Results: Aug. 28
TIPPECANOE VALLEY 3, PERU 0
It was a night of celebration for the Vikings, its 25-19, 25-17, 25-8 win giving coach Mallory Eaton her 100th career victory.
Valley used a solid team effort to defeat its Three Rivers Conference foe, with Sophie Bussard leading with 16 kills and Allison Miller adding a pair of aces while Sarah Myers had 13 assists. On defense, Makenzie Woodcox and Bussard each had a pair of blocks and Shayleigh Shriver dug nine attempts.
The JV also pulled out a win with a 25-8, 25-23 result. Bree Sheetz and Hayley Backus combined for nine kills and two blocks while Macy Kirchenstien had nine assists and Ashley Butler five aces.
Valley (4-5, 1-1 TRC) will continue in the TRC with a matchup Thursday at home against Maconaquah.
NORTHWOOD 3, LAVILLE 0
The Panthers made quick work of the Lancers in The Pit in a 25-10, 25-12, 25-9 run through.
Ali Knepp had a good night for the Panthers, recording six kills and five aces. Maddy Payne had 10 kills and a block and Caroline Mullet had 26 assists and six digs. Whitney Gessinger led the defense with nine digs.
The NorthWood JV also won in straights at 25-21, 25-15. Annika Bennett led the juniors with eight assists and six digs.
NorthWood (11-3) will take on Concord Thursday in Northern Lakes Conference play.
KNOX 3, TRITON 2
Knox rallied from down 2-1 to come back and beat Triton 23-25, 25-12, 21-25, 25-16, 15-12.
Lexia Hostrawser had a big night for the Trojans, putting down 13 kills and two blocks while Jaela Faulkner had a big showing on defense with 23 digs.
Dylanie Miller had 30 assists, Alyxa Viers 12 digs, seven kills and four aces, and Molly McFarland 10 digs for Triton, which fell in the Hoosier North Athletic Conference for the first time.
Triton (1-6, 0-1 HNAC) continues in conference play Thursday at home against Culver.
WESTVIEW JR. HIGH 2, LCA 0
Lakeland Christian Academy found itself on the short end for the first time this year, losing to Westview 25-13, 25-14.
Addisyn Daley and Amaya Hoyt combined for five aces and led the offense along with Alexis Miller, Madi Sell and Maddie Silveus.
