Donald D. Fisher
Donald D. “Don” Fisher, 99, Rochester, passed away at 5:44 a.m., Monday, Aug. 27, 2018, at Hickory Creek of Rochester.
He was born Feb. 12, 1919, in Fulton, the son of Ora D. and Mary E. (Lowe) Fisher. On Dec. 24, 1969, in Rochester, he married Betty Lou Hayden. She preceded him in death on July 25, 2001.
Early in life, Mr. Fisher was engaged in farming and also had been salesman at the former Boston Men’s Clothing Store of Rochester. A licensed realtor, he founded Manitou Realty in 1968 and continued working in real estate for almost forty seven years. He was a life time member of the Moose Lodge, Elks Lodge, Eagles Lodge, Odd Fellows Lodge, American Legion and the Indiana Realtor’s Association. He had also been an avid card player.
Survivors include his son, Roy and wife Violet Fisher, Rochester; daughter, Terry and husband Mike Gearhart, Akron; grandchildren, John and wife Lee Ann Fisher, Rochester; Larry and wife Denice Koebcke Jr., Valparaiso; David Koebcke, Buffalo, N.Y.; Matt Gearhart, Burbank, Calif.; and Clay Gearhart, San Diego, Calif.; ten great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kay Koebcke, grandson, William “Bill” Fisher and brother, Howard Fisher.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 30, at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester. Friends may visit from 1-3 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Rochester.
