NorthWood Continues To Roll
ELKHART – The rotation played favor to NorthWood this year. Getting the trio with Elkhart Memorial at Christiana Creek this year, NorthWood got to play Monday night on the course that will house the Northern Lakes Conference Championships in September.
The Lady Panthers had a fine showing from MacKenzie Weaver, shooting a three-over 39 to lead the defending NLC champs to a 173 to stay well clear of Memorial at 221 and Plymouth at 207.
Cybil Stillson didn’t set the world on fire Monday like she has in recent rounds, but still posted a respectable 41. Abby Slabaugh recovered from a tough outing at the Hall of Fame Invite to record a 45 and Makenna Gall posted a 48 for the scoring rounds.
Plymouth had Brittney Klotz fire a 47 to lead the Pilgrims, followed by Olivia Waymouth at 52, Annastasia Hutchings at 53 and Olivia Horvath at 55.
Memorial had Courtney King stay with the leaders at 41, but scores fell off from there. Lily Ball had a 50, then Micah Baker at 57 and Morgan Mast at 73.
Kylee Gall had the top JV score for NorthWood with a 42, with Breanna Goss at 45, Abigail Richner at 46 and Kirsten Schrock at 50.
The two NLC wins moves NorthWood to 6-0 in match play and 9-0 overall. NorthWood can cinch up its 50th straight NLC win and seventh straight undefeated NLC season Thursday when it hosts Concord at McCormick Creek.
