Plenty Of Activities At The Milford Public Library
MILFORD — The following are upcoming activities at the Milford Public Library:
Friends Of The Library Painting Auction
The Friends of the Milford Public Library are hosting a silent auction for original watercolor “Corvair Resting Site” by artist Don Sheline of Goshen. You can place your bid through Sept. 30. Look for the display by the circulation desk upstairs. Proceeds will benefit the Milford Public Library.
Vote For Lights Out At The Library Theme
Everyone can vote, once a day until Aug. 31, for their choice of Lights Out at the Library theme. There are three different themes to choose from, and the theme with the most votes at the end of August is the theme we will use for this year’s Lights Out at the Library on Oct. 31. Ask for a ball at the adult circulation desk and place the ball in the correct slot on the Plinko board to vote for your favorite theme. All ages can vote. The winning theme will be announced on Sept. 7. Lights Out at the Library is our most popular program all year, so be sure to place your vote at the library.
Teens Can Vote For Their Favorite YALSA Book
Teens aged 12-18 can vote for their favorite Teens’ Top Ten fiction to select the best books of 2018 starting now. The Teens’ Top Ten competition allows teens to select the best ten young adult books published during the past year. Voting continues through Teen Read Week, Oct. 7 – 13. All 25 nominated titles are available now at Milford Public Library. Check out the display in the teen area.
Staff Recommendation
Milford Public Library clerk, Kaitlyn Arford, recommends reading new nonfiction book Wood Pallet Wonders by Becky Lamb. Individuals can learn how to make DIY Projects like a back-to-school bookshelf, a tree swing, storage crates and tables. The book can be found under 684.08 in the new nonfiction section. Staff members are always happy to help you find whatever you need.
