NORTHWOOD 7, BREMEN 0
Cindy Barahona’s goal in the third minute was the gamewinner for the Panthers, but got plenty of offense against the Lions.
Barahona used an assist from Morgan Stickley just three minutes in to pot the first goal, then celebrated a second seven minutes later when Kali Parisi found Olivia Craven.
Emma Martz would score two goals, Craven would score one more and assist on another, Barahona added a second and Caroline Jenkins got her first goal of the year in the final minute.
NorthWood, which was held without a shot on target Thursday night in a loss at Warsaw, rebounded with a 22-shot effort against the Lions. Kira Robinson made a pair of saves for the clean sheet.
NorthWood (3-1) will get a make-up game in Tuesday against Westview.
CONCORD 5, WAWASEE 0
What was shaping up to be a major upset alert turned out to be a false alarm.
Wawasee and Concord were scoreless through the first 45 minutes of the Northern Lakes Conference game, but Concord broke through in the 46th minute and never looked back. Five goals in 23 minutes put the Minutemen at 3-1 overall and a perfect 2-0 in NLC play.
Wawasee (1-4-1, 0-1 NLC) will regroup for Thursday’s match at Lakeland Christian Academy.
