Pierceton Woman Arrested For Domestic Battery Causing Serious Bodily Injury
PIERCETON — A Pierceton woman was recently arrested after she hit a man in the face with a plate, which caused a large laceration.
Kathryn Marriah Rhamey, 26, 3104 E. Wooster Road 55, Pierceton, is being charged with domestic battery causing serious bodily injury, a level 5 felony, and domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor.
On July 4, an officer with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department responded to a male subject bleeding from the face in Pierceton. Upon arrival, the victim was in the back of an ambulance with a “very large” laceration on his nose. The victim’s laceration was causing blood to spill into his nasal cavity and mouth. Another large laceration was next to the victim’s left eye. The officer noted that the male was covered with blood from head to toe.
The male victim stated that he and Rhamey were arguing. According to the victim, Rhamey charged at him and used a ceramic plate to hit him on the face. After the incident, Rhamey immediately left the house.
The officer observed a large trail of blood from the residence to the ambulance. With the victim’s permission, the officer entered the home. Inside the home, the officer found a photographed a large amount of blood and a broken ceramic plate lying on the floor.
Due to the severity of his injuries, the victim was transported from Kosciusko Community Hospital to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
Rhamey was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on Aug. 22, with a $10,000 surety bond.
