Cole Arrested After Kicking Cop In The Crotch
SILVER LAKE — A Silver Lake woman was arrested after she kicked an officer in the groin and resisted arrest.
Tina Marie Cole, 36, 408 N. Elm St., Silver Lake, is being charged with battery to a law enforcement officer, a level 6 felony; resisting law enforcement, a class A misdemeanor; battery, a class B misdemeanor; and disorderly conduct, a class B misdemeanor.
On Aug. 4, an officer with the Silver Lake Police Department responded to a report of a fight at a residence. When the officer arrived, he talked with Cole, who was yelling, screaming and being uncooperative.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, Cole decided she didn’t want to talk to the officer and attempted to walk away. The officer stopped her from doing so.
A male subject said Cole was being difficult and he asked her to leave. At that point, Cole began to slap the male and pushed him, refusing to leave the residence.
As the male was telling the officer his side of the story, Cole pushed and attempted to slap him. When the officer attempted to take Cole into custody, she immediately kicked the officer twice in the groin, causing him intense pain and dizziness. Cole struggled and kicked while the officer placed handcuffs on her. During the struggle, the officer received several scrapes and lacerations to his knees and legs.
Cole refused to walk to the patrol vehicle, so officers had to drag and secure Cole in the vehicle’s backseat. Cole remained agitated and combative while being transported to the Kosciusko County Jail.
Cole has been arrested and released on her own recognizance. She has an initial hearing date set at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, in Kosciusko Superior 1 Court.
