WABASH 4, TIPPECANOE VALLEY 1
Valley played a much more inspired contest its second into the season, but still fell on the short end of a 4-1 result at home Tuesday to Wabash.
Grant Carandante led the Apaches with two goals while Austin Black and Braden Brooks each had a goal and an assist in the win. Wyatt Davis added an assist for the visitors.
After losing 11-0 to NorthWood without a shot on goal, Valley finally mounted some offense, breaking through with a goal from Theo Mohwinkel in the second half, his first career tally.
Blayze Shemwell would stop the other six Valley shots for the win in net. Alex Aguilar made four saves for the Vikings.
“The Vikes played their hardest until the horn sounded at the 80-minute mark and left the field on the short end,” noted Valley head coach Andrew Luce, “but with the knowledge that they are headed in the right direction.”
Valley (0-2) will host Caston Thursday night.
