Squires, Warriors Fourth, Fifth At Rochester
ROCHESTER — Wawasee and Manchester both competed at the Rochester Invitational Saturday, the Lady Squires firing a 368 for fourth place, and the Warriors finished just one stroke back for fifth place in the 18-team field. Tippecanoe Valley also fielded a team, but the Vikings were unable to field the minimum four golfers for a score.
Culver Academy won the invite with a 329, followed by Northridge’s 342, and Westerm’s 354.
Kelsey Eichenquer shot 83 to lead Manchester at Round Barn, while Madyson Ulrey carded a career-low 85 regrouping from a rough stretch in the middle of her round. Alissa Bickerstaff also shot a personal-best of 100 alongside Cora Barnett. Manchester’s fifth score was a 116 provided by Morgan Stroud.
Lesley Tayagua started strong and stayed hot on the way to an 84 to lead the Warriors, followed closely by Belle Brunner’s 88. Jadison Rostochak shot 95, and Tate Cowan was solid at 102 as Wawasee turned in its best 18-hole round of the season so far. Valerie Haessig’s 104 was the toss-out score for the Warriors.
Valley’s individual results were unavailable.
