Haberman’s Feet, Kerlin’s Hands Help Warriors
LIGONIER – Wawasee kicked up the offensive production and in turn got its first girls soccer win of the season.
A pair of goals from Allie Haberman helped Wawasee defeat West Noble, 4-3, Wednesday afternoon.
Sara Pritchard had an unassisted goal and Haberman scored her first in the first half, helped along by Hannah Lancaster, to give Wawasee a 2-1 lead at the half. Haberman opened the scoring in the second half with her second strike, and Hannah Lancaster added some insurance with a goal to make it 4-1
Lancaster’s goal turned into the golden one because West Noble got two goals back in the final 15 minutes to make the contest closer.
Graceanne Kerlin also did her part in net for the Lady Warriors, snuffing a penalty kick and making four saves to earn her first win in net of the season.
Wawasee (1-1) will host Westview on Saturday.
