Lind Taking Reigns As Next WCHS Tennis Coach
WARSAW – Warsaw Community High School announced Monday that Stacy Lind will take over as the boys tennis coach for this season.
Lind comes to Warsaw after three seasons leading the Tippecanoe Valley tennis programs. She also has been the tennis professional and assistant at the Warsaw Tennis and Fitness Center for the past six years.
Lind will take over for Rick Orban, who guided the program last season despite a very scary health episode in the middle of the season. An aggressive bout of pneumonia sent Orban to the hospital for almost two weeks before returning to the sidelines to watch his team win its sixth straight sectional title. Orban, who was also dealing with health issues last spring, will remain with the tennis program as the girls head coach this coming spring.
The coaching change is pending WCS board approval Monday, Aug. 20.
Warsaw opens its season Wednesday at home against Huntington North.
