Jon Charles Kurczbuch
Jon Charles Kurczbuch, 79, Warsaw, passed away at 10:45 p.m., Monday, August 6, 2018, in Mason Health and Rehabilitation Center, Warsaw. He was born on July 20, 1939, in Lubna-Jakusy, Poland to Chezlaw and Janina (Wieczoreck) Kurczbuch.
He was a survivor of a WWII forced labor camp. After surviving the forced labor camp, he and his folks settled in Valley Center, Kan. From their he moved to Newton, Kan where he graduated high school. He attended Illinois Institute of Technology, where he completed his college degree in Chemistry. He worked for 45 years as a chemist in Chicago and transferred in the 1980’s to Flint Ink here in Warsaw where he eventually retired from.
He was a non-denominational Christian and supported many charitable causes. In addition, he was an avid golfer, huge Chicago Cubs fan, and thoroughly enjoyed his cable television.
He is survived by his son: Paul Kurczbuch of Warsaw; daughter: Renee Luka of Chicago, Ill.; brother: Charles “Charlie” (Cathy) Kurczbuch of Newton, Kan.; sister: Theresa (Gary) Reuter of Chicago, Ill. He was preceded in death by one brother: Joe (Neilia survives) Kurczbuch.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 17, in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Visitation will be two hours prior to the Service from 1-3 p.m. in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Chaplain Bob Jarboe will officiate the Memorial Service.
