Leesburg Elementary Greets Community Through Bus Tour
LEESBURG — Nothing says welcome back to school like a bus full of teachers, popsicles and celebratory music. That’s exactly what the Leesburg Elementary School teachers did on Wednesday evening, Aug. 8.
Around 25 teachers and Leesburg Principal Nathan Polston traveled by bus into the community to welcome students back into the school year. They made a total of eight stops. At every stop, they were greeted by the smiling faces of students and parents ready to start the school year. Popsicle treats were provided and were a big hit among those attending the stops.
Abby Parker, a parent of a Leesburg student, said, “The bus tour was a fantastic idea to get the kids excited for back to school. My kids counted down the hours all day for the bus to arrive. I love that Leesburg teachers go above and beyond to make their students excited about learning.”
Leesburg staff members are looking forward to a great school year and can’t wait to see everyone at Meet The Teacher Night from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 13.
