Warsaw Man Facing Multiple Drug Charges After Arrested Twice In Two Weeks
WARSAW — A Warsaw man is facing multiple methamphetamine charges after he was arrested twice in a two week period.
Mark Allen Holbrook II, 40, 920 Anchorage Road, No. 11, Warsaw, is being charged with dealing in methamphetamine, a level 2 felony; possession of methamphetamine, a level 4 felony; possession of methamphetamine with enhancing circumstances, a level 3 felony; and driving while suspected, a class A misdemeanor for his arrest on July 26. For his arrest on Aug. 2, he is charged with possession of methamphetamine, a level 6 felony, and possession of methamphetamine with enhancing circumstances, a level 5 felony.
On July 26, an officer with the Warsaw Police Department observed Holbrook turn into the west entrance of Shamrock Mobile Home Park. The officer had prior knowledge that Holbrook’s Indiana driver’s license was suspended prior. When the officer conducted a traffic stop, subjects started to run from the car. The officer drew his taser and Holbrook complied.
The officer arrested Holbrook and began to search him. Holbrook advised he had “dope” in his pocket. Three plastic bags containing methamphetamine that were marked with “8” and one plastic bag of methamphetamine that was marked “1/4” were discovered in Holbrooks pocket. Holbrook admitted that there would be a digital scale inside the vehicle.
The methamphetamine weighed a total of 22 grams. Based on the officer’s past training, he identified that the methamphetamine was packaged for sale.
Holbrook was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on July 26. He was then released on his own recognizance.
On Aug. 2, Kosciusko County Dispatch received information that Holbrook is a methamphetamine dealer and that he had possession of a handgun. Officers with the Warsaw Police Department conducted surveillance on Holbrook’s place of employment. Officers observed Holbrook enter a vehicle and fail to give a proper turn signal.
A traffic stop was conducted and Holbrook was identified as the rear-seat passenger. A canine partner was used to conduct an outer air search and made a positive alert on the vehicle.
Officers searched the vehicle and found small pieces of marijuana on the floorboard of the vehicle. Holbrook admitted he ate a marijuana cigarette when officers began to stop the vehicle. He further advised that the empty bag that previously contained the marijuana was inside his sock. Officers removed the empty bag from Holbrook’s sock and also discovered three plastic bags of methamphetamine.
Holbrook would not admit to possessing a firearm. Officer’s went to a family member of Holbrook’s residence. The family member advised that he observed a photograph of a firearm on Holbrook’s phone stating that a subject named “Tuck” wanted to sell him a handgun.
He was previously convicted of dealing in methamphetamine on Dec. 22, 2010, in Kosciusko County.
Holbrook was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on Aug. 2. He is being held on a $15,250 bond.
