Rochester Woman Arrested For Fraud, Theft
KOSCIUSKO — A Rochester woman was arrested for fraud after police say she stole a Global Cash Card from a coworker and used it.
Kyla M. Pace, 20, 4940 E. Wood Lane, Lot 20, Rochester, is being charged with fraud, a level 6 felony, and theft, a class A misdemeanor.
On June 29, an officer with the Mentone Police Department responded to a fraud and theft call at a local Wilby’s Gas Station. A female told an employee that her Global Cash Card had been used at Wilby’s Gas station on June 29, without her permission or consent.
The employee provided the surveillance video and receipts for three transactions. A female subject made a transaction of $25 for gasoline, a transaction of $4.47 for a drink and a transaction of $62.17 for a carton of cigarettes. The officer was able to determine that the first name of the signature was Kyla and the last name started with the letter P.
Dispatch was able to find Pace in the database. The officer compared Pace’s license photograph with the surveillance video. The officer was able to confirm that Pace was the female who made the transactions.
The officer spoke with the owner of the Global Cash Card. She advised that she kept the card inside her purse in a locker while she was at work. On June 27, the victim did not have her key and left her work locker unlocked. Pace and the victim are employed at the same location, Titus Manufacturing.
Pace was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on Aug. 1, with a $10,500 surety and cash bond.
