Karen E. Ringler — UPDATED
Karen E. Ringler, 69, of Syracuse, passed away at 9:05 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 3, 2018, at her home.
She was born on Jan. 26, 1949, in Goshen, to Howard E. & Priscilla E. (Le Count) Juday.
She was a lifetime Syracuse area resident and graduated in 1967 from Syracuse High School. She graduated in 1971 from Indiana State University in Terre Haute with a Bachelor’s Degree and then received her Master’s Degree from Indiana State University. She was married on Aug. 8, 1970, in Syracuse, to Garry L. Ringler who survives. She retired from the Wanee Community Schools as a speech pathologist after 32 years and worked part-time for the Wawasee Community School Corporation in Syracuse.
She was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church in Syracuse.
She is survived by her husband Garry Ringler, of Syracuse; daughter Elizabeth (Mark Porter) Ringler, Syracuse; sons Matthew (Diane) Ringler and Benjamin (Kelli) Ringler, both of Syracuse; six grandchildren; mother and stepfather Priscilla and Charles Gardner, Syracuse; sister Marta (Dr. Bernard) Emkes, Zionsville; and three stepbrothers Bud (Suzie) Garner, Plainfield, John (Gail) Garner,Greencastle, and Jim (Lorri) Garner of Syracuse.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 6, at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 7, in the funeral home with Pastor Dana Neer officiating. Burial will follow in the Syracuse Cemetery.
