Charlene A. Walters
Charlene A. Walters, 89, North Manchester, passed away peacefully at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2018, at Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester.
Walters was born on July 13, 1929, one of nine children to Roy C. and Pauline (Eby) Stucker. She married Miles F. Walters on July 31, 1948.
Those left to cherish her memory are her younger sister Lova Ward, daughter Priscilla (Walters) Bungitak, grandchildren John D. Bakehorn, Jason D. Bakehorn and Dorehyl (Bungitak) Mobley. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Her parents and Miles preceded her in death along with siblings Virgil Stucker, Georgia Dee Clark, Oznola McCullough, NaDean Sherer, Geneva Kester, Dorene Smith and Carolyn Howard.
Walters loved to work, spending many years working at Custom Magnetics, Inc. in North Manchester. She was a member of the former Servia United Church of Christ for much of her life and attended Congregational Christian Church in her later years.
A celebration of Walters’s life will be a small private graveside ceremony at Fairview Cemetery, Servia, with family and close friends. Arrangements are entrusted to McKee Mortuary, North Manchester.
