Bertha J. Blankenship
Bertha J. Blankenship, 79, Etna Green, passed away Saturday, July 28, 2018 in Kosciusko Community Hospital.
She was born the daughter of Isiah and Cara Wolford on Feb. 5, 1939, at Buchanan, Va. She had been a resident of Etna Green since 1978. She was a homemaker and had worked at Reynolds Metals, Bourbon where she retired from. Evelyn enjoyed bird watching, hummingbirds, collecting pigs, writing things down in note books, wrestling and the show Family Feud. She was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witness Warsaw, IN.
On Oct. 28, 1959 she married Harold Blankenship Sr., who preceded her in death May 1, 2014. She will be missed by her daughter Patty Garber of Warsaw, her son Danny Blankenship of Etna Green; three grandsons: Eric David and Kayla Thomas of Etna Green, Trevor Blankenship of Etna Green, Keith and Dacy Newman of Inwood; granddaughter Courtney Garber of Warsaw and two great grandchildren: Lucas Newman and Madison Thomas. Additional family include a niece Sonja Lett of Bourbon Katherine (Mrs. Sam) Remfrey who was like sister to Bertha and her dog “Molly”. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Harold Blankenship, Jr., Dec.8, 2006, three sisters and a brother.
The family welcomes you to help celebrate her life with a time of visitation, Thursday from 4-6 p.m., in Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home 115 S. Main St. Bourbon, IN 46504.
