Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
5:30 a.m. Monday, July 30, North SR 19, north of West CR 500N, Etna Green. Driver: Travis C. Snyder, 36, East Liberty Avenue, Bourbon. Snyder was traveling north on SR 19 when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $10,000.
5:23 a.m. Monday, July 30, East SR 14, west of South Packerton Road, Silver Lake. Driver: Garth E. Ellenberger, 66, Witchwood Drive, Fort Wayne. Ellenberger was operating a 2018 Kenworth T880 owned by KR Drenth Trucking. While traveling east, the vehicle dropped off the right side of the roadway, traveling down a steep ditch and into a corn field. Ellenberger attempted to back out onto the roadway when the vehicle and trailer tipped over onto its side. A semi width of corn approximately 100 yards long was destroyed. The property owner, Terry L. Rosenbarger, was notified of the damage. Damage up to $100,000.
11:58 p.m. Saturday, July 28, West US 30, near North CR 700W, Warsaw. Driver: Anne M. Miller, 41, Amarillo Drive, Fort Wayne. Miller was traveling east on US 30 when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $5,000.
3:23 p.m. Saturday, July 28, East CR 250N, east of East Kyle Road, Pierceton. Driver: Bernice King, 58, East Hanna Street, Columbia City. King was traveling east on CR 250N when an oncoming vehicle entered her lane of travel. She swerved to avoid a collision, causing her vehicle to leave the roadway. The other vehicle that was in the wrong lane of travel was not at the scene. Damage up to $5,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accident:
12:14 p.m. Monday, July 30, East Winona Avenue, near Railroad #533-573F, Warsaw. Driver: Reynaldo Rodriguez, 34, East Circle Drive North, Syracuse. Rodriguez was traveling west on Winona Avenue when he pulled around a vehicle that was stopped for railroad crossing lights. As Rodriguez’s vehicle crossed the first set of railroad tracks, he noticed the northbound train. He swerved right but collided with the train. Rodriguez complained of neck pain. Damage up to $25,000.
