Area Accident Reports
Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
3:05 a.m. Sunday, July 29, North Old SR 15, south of West Levi Lee Road, Warsaw. Driver: unknown. Officers responded to a report of a wrecked vehicle near the railroad tracks. The vehicle left the side of the roadway and struck a large pile of railroad ties. The owner of the vehicle advised he was not driving the vehicle and did not know it was missing. Damage up to $10,000.
2:41 a.m. Sunday, July 29, East CR 450N, west of North CR 375E, Warsaw. Driver: unknown. A white 2014 Chevrolet Silverado appeared to be traveling west on East CR 450N when it left the roadway and struck a tree. A witness saw the driver exit the vehicle and take off on foot. The driver wasn’t located, and it’s unknown if the driver was injured. Damage up to $25,000.
Silver Lake
Officers with the Silver Lake Police Department investigated the following accident:
6:04 p.m. Friday, July 27, 615 North Jefferson St., Silver Lake. Driver: Melissa A. Brown, 37, Rue Voltaire Apartment 920, South Bend. Brown was traveling north on Jefferson when she attempted to pull underneath a fuel pump overhanging, causing her trailer to knock off a light underneath the overhang. Damage up to $2,500.
Winona Lake
Officers with the Winona Lake Police Department investigated the following accident:
10:14 a.m. Friday, July 27, East Winona Avenue, west of Lakeview Drive, Winona Lake. Drivers: Amanda N. Gibbs, 30, West Business 30 Apartment 48, Columbia City; and June L. Ledford, 59, Durham Court, Winona Lake. Ledford was slowing for a vehicle that was turning left when she was struck by Gibbs’ vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
